Lexie & Mickey | Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury Wedding, NJ

Lexie and Mickey tied the knot at Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury surrounded by the love and excitement of family and friends! Before I get into all the magic of their wedding day, let me tell you a little more about these special people. These two, who I’m lucky enough to call friends, beyond just clients, are just the best. Lexie & Mickey are one of those couples who you can just tell they are meant for each other. Joy just radiates from these two when they’re together. In the way that they look at one another, care for each other, and laugh together, you can clearly see that they are completely head over heels for each other. And I think that’s the way it’s always been. In fact, Lexie told me that on their first date, Mickey left his keys at the restaurant because he was so distracted; they had to walk back around midnight to get them back from the restaurant manager who was waiting outside for them! 🙂

Mickey popped the question when he and Lexie got their first house together, making the occasion extra special. Lexie wrote, “We finally found a house and didn’t tell anyone. We put an offer in and on the day of closing he told me to meet him at his office and bring a tape measure and paper to write down the measurements so we could go furniture shopping. When we drove over to the house, I went to open the front door of our new home and when I walked in he had my mom, his mom, and sister filming me. I didn’t even know he was down on one knee behind me in the doorway (I was crying) my mom had to whisper to me to turn around. So there on the day of closing on our new home- he proposed! So happy that moment was captured!” A double red letter day for sure!! 😉

It’s hard to choose just one favorite moment from Lexie and Mickey’s wedding day when the entire day was just one perfect moment after the next. Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury was such a beautiful venue with a warm, charming southern kind of vibe, which is naturally right up my alley! From the the stunning location and classic black and white theme, to the INSANE dessert display filling multiple rooms, and all the sweet emotional moments, Lexie & Mickey’s wedding day was so special.

Lexie’s father passed away 12 years ago and he loved a good party, so in his and Mickey’s grandfather’s honor, they wanted to have all of their family and friends together celebrating in one room. Some of the sweetest moments were Lexie honoring her father with a beautiful charm on her bouquet that her mother in law made her, a special reading at their ceremony of a beautiful poem her father had written, and Mickey dancing with both his mother and grandmother at the reception. There seriously wasn’t a dry eye in the house multiple times that day.  I loved being able to celebrate this amazing couple on their big day and capture these treasured memories. Lexie & Mickey, I am so grateful for you two! Wishing you both all the happiness in the world, you deserve it!
