Rachel & Matt | Long Beach Island Engagement Session

Rachel and Matt met at Ramapo College after being introduced by a mutual friend. Five years later, here they are planning their wedding day! I recently had the privilege of photographing their engagement session down in Long Beach Island, New Jersey! Let me tell you friends, this session was one for the books! With gorgeous beaches, a historic hand-made boat, and perfectly golden sunset, this shoot was incredible from start to finish!

LBI holds a special meaning, and so many memories for Rachel and Matt, making it the perfect location for their engagement shoot! Matt proposed to Rachel in LBI last year. Rachel knew Matt was coming down the shore to join the family that evening. Rachel was out with her cousins, when they were called home to join everyone at the beach. When the arrived at the beach, they saw a chair with an iPad on it. Her cousins told her to check it out! On the iPad was a slideshow of all Matt and Rachel’s photos together. At the end of the slideshow, it said “turn around for the next step in our journey,” and Matt was there, down on one knee! Rachel’s first question was “did you ask my dad?” 🙂 Such a sweet story and beautiful beginning to their forever!

We began the session at the beach near Rachel’s family beach house. Then with the help from Rachel’s dad, we were able to hop on board a historic wooden boat at Brant Beach Yacht Club! It was amazing! And then we finished up our shoot watching the sunset from the shoreline. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day, or a sweeter couple to spend it with!

Thank you Rachel and Matt! I had so much fun adventuring around LBI with you guys, and feel so honored to document this incredibly special part of your story. I can’t wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day next September! 🙂 Congrats you two!

Is this not one of the most beautiful boats ever?! 🙂
